5 extra minutes
I just saw a few minutes of Dr. Phil last night and he was starting his new year weight loss challenge…I only watched a few minutes because it just didn’t really interest me, since I have my own personal crew of experts right here!
Anyway, the one thing that I heard was he was telling one of the women that the mocha latte she was having 4 times a week added up to something like 91,000 extra calories in a year which equaled something like 26 pounds!!!
It got me thinking that small things really do add up – BIG TIME!
So, I decided to add 5 minutes to my exercise everyday. Just 5 minutes. We ALL have 5 more minutes. Here’s how that math works itself out…
for me, since I exercise 7 days a week – adding 5 minutes each time equals…an extra 35 minutes a week OR an extra 140 minutes per month (if we go with 4 weeks in a month) OR in 365 days an extra 1825 minutes!!! That is over 30 extra HOURS of exercise in a year – that has GOT to be good for us!!!
if you are exercising 3 times a week, that is 15 minutes per week, 60 minutes in a month, approx 782 extra minutes a year – which is an extra 13 HOURS!!! WOOHOO!
Try to add 5 more minutes – it will really ADD UP!

So very true!! I saw that show too ….and it’s amazing how quickly the small things really do add up. So, definitely, better to add in the good stuff like exercise, water, or YOU time

This is so true.. I will be adding in that exercise as well… even I can do 5 minutes more…
(glad I’m off the cappachinos.. they were prolly worse then the lattes..)

This is a great idea.
I am just getting my ex program off the ground. I have done it for a few days in a row now. So… what I need to do is build up.
I am going to take your advice as I build up my cardio time.

I had to laugh when I read this because I have only just started riding the exercise bicycle and I’m starting with just 5 minutes a day this week and
adding five extra minutes would DOUBLE my exercise and I’m not quite ready for that just yet 
Buy you are so right, every little bit helps and I already planned to add a few minutes a week to make some progress
