carbmares revisited

I have seen quite a few posts lately about carbmares or dreams of going off plan. I have been having them about once a week or so. For me they are so vivid and make me very upset and disappointed in myself for going off plan.
While they do upset me at the time I think they have been very valuable in helping me to stay on plan because the feelings they dredge up are a reminder of where I don’t want to be. Anyone else feel they hold a purpose? Jeanie

I can’t say that I have ever had (or heard of) a carbmare. That would be terrifying. But I can also see how it would motivate you to never feel that way in your waking life.

    Yeah, I get them LOL.
But I continue to have ’smoking’ dreams and I quit over 20 years ago.

I haven’t had one in a while, but man I used to get some bad ones.

Ever since I got my own house, my nightmares revolve around roof leaks! I used to love the sound of rain on the roof as a kid, now it just makes me paranoid and obsessive…

I agree, I have had quite a few and it is amazing how real it seems and how much I hate myself for the cheat in my dreams

I too see it as a learning experience

HI Jean! I feel that what we dream about is not as important to consider as how the dream made us feel.

Not to get overly analytical, but i would say that you need to reconcile your feelings of letting yourself down when it comes to food.

It’s only food…and during your waking hours IF you decide to eat something off plan, you CAN decide to get right back on plan. Hunger spikes from the sugar/carbs aside, YOU CAN GET PAST that decision if you choose that. Hard? maybe, but it is NOT impossible.

i think you are reacting subconsciously to past decisions that you fear in the future. You can exercise control in your food plan, no matter what the day may bring you! Trust yourself!

I had some french fries the other night in my dream I haven’t done that in a long time!

once or twice a week, I have lunch with fellow co-workers, several of who are on ww – they get the cafeteria food (ughhhhh) .. so the room smells of french fries, pizza, bagel-based pizza ..

i dream of hot breadsticks (they have those for dessert – but they are so proud of themselves for not eating any fattening meat!!!)

I don’t mind the dreams – cuz when I wake up I’m so proud of myself that it was only a dream !
