What’s Typical Food Day For Maintainers?

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Just curious now that you are up the ladder and all what you do you eat in a typical day? When I got to goal I switched from Atkins to S Beach and never did the ladder. Just curious….

My journey into maintaining without a scale

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

So I started the thread asking who maintains without a scale and I came to the conclusion that I will share my experience trying to go scaleless.

Some of you may think that I am crazy and in fact I have my own fears about this but because of my unhealthy bondage to the scale god I am going to give this a try. My plan is to stay a comfy size 8, exercise, and eat right. I will post the ups and downs and if I break down and get on the scale I will post that also. I plan on using my pants as a guide and when they are too tight I know I will need to cut back. Anyone who wants to join in is quite welcome.

This week I feel very positive about my body and food. My sister’s and I went to Talbot’s on Monday and I got two very form fitting and cute tops. I was very happy with my purchase and I felt so good about my weight loss because for so very long I could not buy clothes that I desired. I had to buy clothes that hid (at least I thought). I have a closet full of cute jeans, pants and capri’s and it is very nice to stay the same size from season to season.

Rolled oats?

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Good morning, a friend of mine was over last night and she said rolled oats have no carbs, I don’t want to argue with her but I thought they did! Google gave me very little info, what’s the truth? Thanks

Freezing homemade dressing?

LOL, I may mix my dressing/mayo too in bulk, and I thought about freezing it for easy access. Is it possible, does anyone do this? If so, how do you store it? TY!

Whole Wheat Pasta .. Anyone Use It?

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

I successfuly switched over to whole wheat pasta for my family – they really like it, which makes me very happy! as I feel I can serve pasta more often to them. I try to serve 90% healthy food and they do eat brown rice, multigrain bread, etc along with their occasional potatoes, and other carby not-very-nutritional stuff, lol!

I haven’t brought myself yet to eat any of those things .. the rice and bread do not tempt me in the least, but I may try to add in the ww pasta (a la carb ladder) and was wondering whether anyone else eats this regularly, or tried it, etc.

TIA!!!

Dark chocolate and polyphenols.

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Does anybody else eat a small amount of very dark chocolate daily for the polyphenol it contains? Yes, of course I eat berries too, but I tell myself why not eat chocolate daily to curb that craving. Also, it has some health benefits. Should I, shouldn’t I? It doesn’t make my bloodsugar spike, I’m pretty sure. I just want to know what others thought on this. The chocolate is 70%. I eat a small square.
