I.m new,help please
Hi I just started this atkins diet and trying to stay below 20 carbs a day. Just some basic questions?? Whats a good shopping list and how many carbs. How much do you lose you think within the first 2 months? Anything anyone would like to help me with I would enjoy any feedback you would like to give me thanks so much!!

How much you will lose in the first two months is impossible to gauge!
However, my grocery list is pretty simple: meat, veggies, and cheese/cream.
its sometimes easier to plan the grocery list by deciding what you want to eat that week. I would suggest you plan, plan, plan!

Hi Sarah I’m new too! Since I did just start I don’t have a lot of advice other than to tell you what I’m doing. I started Atkins on March 9th and my weight was 247. I am staying below 20 carb grams, and as of today, I weigh 238. The first few days, I was really tired and slept a lot, but the past few days, I’ve had some energy and actually did some spring cleaning.
I am seeing changes already so I’m going to stick with it. I hope to lose at least two pounds a week; that would be a total of sixteen pounds in two months. Of course I would like all the weight to drop off overnight but that’s not going to happen and that’s the kind of thinking that has led to failure in the past. Knowing I had so much to lose and thinking the task was insurmountable.

And good luck!

Sarah, do you have a copy of the book? That will help you plan and shop.
Here’s a typical shopping list for me, for a week:
3-5 heads of romaine
1 big container baby spinach
1 container arugula (not every week)
1 big bag of fresh green beans (Maybe a pound or even two? Not sure)
2 heads of cauliflower
3-4 pounds of fresh broccoli
1 bunch asparagus (sometimes)
1 head green cabbage (sometimes)
1 package natural, nitrate-free bacon
1-2 bunches green onions
Cheddar cheese, 1 8-ounce block for the week.
Some kind of "different" cheese–gorgonzola, Brie, fresh mozzerella, feta, pepperjack… something like that. No more than 8 ounces for the week.
1 small half-pint container heavy whipping cream
3-4 vine-ripened tomatoes
1 English cucumber
2-3 red bell peppers
"Extras": pepperoncini, olives, pickles
Convenience meats: spicy beef sticks and/or salami or pepperoni for snacks, 1 package about every three weeks
Fresh meat:
1 package chicken breast–6 breasts–I will break this down into three pairs of breasts and freeze two packages for use later in the week.
1 package chicken thighs with the bone and skin–this is 3-4 thighs
1 package pork loin chops
Some type of fresh fish: usually salmon if it looks good, often a white fish like cod too. I freeze one for later in the week and keep one out.
Beef: both ground beef and steaks
Some other kind of meat if desired: lamb, bison, whatever
2 dozen natural cage-free vegetarian-fed eggs
Nuts: raw almonds, macademias, walnuts (I am in the Ongoing Weight Loss phase of Atkins so I can have nuts, though I really only eat them once a week, if that)
Staples in the fridge and pantry: mayonnaise, mustard, cream cheese (I don’t use it very often), Italian dressing (I like Newman’s Own), low-carb sauces and marinades, grated Parmesan cheese, unsalted butter, Marie’s Blue Cheese dressing and Creamy Ranch dressing, olive oil, white wine vinegar
I hope that is somewhat helpful.

Go to the Atkins official website and you can see exactly what the food list is for induction and ongoing weight loss etc.. it explains everything like how to count net carbs and hidden carbs etc and it has a meal planning tool where you can select foods you like and it will make a two week menu for you.
For me shopping includes:
Bacon
Chicken
Ground Beef
Steak
Cheddar cheese and Parmesean
Broccoli
Brussel Sprouts
Celery
Cucumber
Iceburg Lettuce
Lots of Eggs
SF Jello
Dry Cured Salami (sometimes)
Pepperoni (sometimes)
All depends on your likes as to your otions. I’m a picky eater to start with so Induction is a little limiting for me but I’m still surviving

What’s in the crab dip? Is it mayo-based or cream cheese based?
You sound all fired up–I wish you the best!

sounds like a good start but you’d do better to get some nutrtionally dense veggies too like dark green ones.

Okay I.m confused I thought we can only have like celery salad and radishes?? What other veggies can we have?? I love them so whatever ones there are that we can eat please give me some ideas…The jalepeno crab dip I.m not sure I will let you know, but its says 1 gram so it can’t be bad right?
