Its Monday, who’s working out today

Good morning everyone!
So who’s working out today?

I’m going to run 2 miles on the treadmill this morning before getting ready for work and then run 3 miles outside after work tonight, maybe 4 miles I’m going to start upping my mileage and start getting serious about getting these 15 pounds off.

Have a good workout and burn those pounds off.

    I raked for 2 straight days in a row….kinda sore at the hips from bending down so much (lol) but going to go back at it today.

    I may get on the trail later today and see how I feel….going for a light jog!

    no running or even jogging for me! but I was hoping to do Samba de Amigo on my Xbox and move my legs the whole time and that should be fun and burn quite a few calories! I’m shooting for at least 45 minutes of dance time.

    I’m going to actually plug in and use Dance Dance Revolution for Wii tonight. It’s been sitting in the box for a month now *blush* I hear it’s a great workout and really fun, and I’m right back at beginner level and just getting started again. I’m hoping it will be perfect to get started on.

    I have a 5 mile run planned today. I’m back in class this week, boooo so I’ll be home around 12:30. I plan on probably taking a short nap then getting out. It’s going to be sunny and 57 with little wind today

    I’m going to wait until late afternoon though because right now it is cloudy and veryyyy windy. It is supposed to clear up and get sunny and a lot less windy around 4ish.

    Hello all!

    I did a personal best 5-miler yesterday, so no running today. My knees were begging for some down time. So my butt got the workout today, 50 minutes on the treadmill walking uphill (10 incline, 4.5 mph). Felt great!

Good morning everyone!
So who’s working out today?

I will do my 4 miles on the treadmill after work tonight. I will run 2 miles at 6. mph and walk 2 miles at 4.7 with a 2 deg incline and then slow it down to 4.3 at an 8 deg incline.

I didn’t end up working out yesterday, but I did do my workout today.
I did 4 miles on the treadmill, I ran 2 miles and walk 2 miles with an incline.
It felt good to workout after taking 3 days off.

I’m still blowing my nose every 15 or 20 minutes, but I just took some cold medicine and hoping it will dry my up.
If I’m feeling up to it I’m going to do 4 miles on the treadmill. I will post later.

Its Monday, who’s working out today

Good morning everyone!
So who’s working out today?

Well after taking the weekend off, I will be hitting the treadmill tonight after work.
I will do 4 miles, first mile walk at 4.4 mph with a 6 deg incline then second mile I will run at 6.0 mph then walk the third mile at 4.4 mph with a 6 or 7 deg. incline and run the last mile at 6.0.

Its Monday, who’s working out today

Good morning everyone!
So who’s working out today?

Well its my first day back after being on vacation since December 24th. So I’m sure I will be very tired when I get off work tonight. But I will do 4 miles on the treadmill the first mile I will walk at 4.4 mph with a 7 deg incline and then run the last 3 miles at 6 mph.

    I ran 5 miles on the boardwalk this morning. Felt great! I am doing a strict week of eating (and not having another glass of wine or champagne for quite some time ) and hope to do the same with my exercise. I do have to fly out to Denver this week for business, but the forecast looks pretty good so will bring my sneakers…

    I’m hoping to start tonight. I just bought 2 DVDs of Walk Away The Pounds. One’s 20 minutes (and I bought 3 lb. weights to use with it), the other has 2 workouts on it, totally 45 minutes, and it came with the stretchy thing for resistance. I’ll try the 20 min. one tonight, as I’ll be home later than usual.

    Me!!! I’m doing my workouts in the later afternoon this week since DH is working days and asked me to go with him once he gets out of work. It’s weights day and I’ll also be doing some basement biking this morning!

    I had to switch some of my workout days and rest days due to the holidays and having weekend guests. It will be great to get back on a regular schedule! I didn’t miss any workouts but I’m a creature of habit and it felt weird not doing my usual schedule….

    Just got back from the gym. 30 minutes elliptical, keeping my heart rate up at 138. Then some weight lifting followed by about 10 minutes in the sauna. I feel great! Having a steak salad as I type.

    At the least, I will be shoveling snow for about 30 minutes today. I am finding that shoveling is such good cardio. I have a snowblower but I shovel my back patio and walks and if I want to keep going I help my neighbors shovel their walks. I love the fresh air.

    Official Rest Day for me today. Yesterday was just a "bonus" one.

    Truthfully, I’m having some groin, quad, knee issues that are oh so familiar. The same pain I felt before being diagnosised with the femoral stress fracture last spring. I’m calling my Sports Dr. today and try to get in this week as I’m leaving for the holiday on vacation on Sunday and would at least like to have a tenative answer. I’m sure he’ll want to do another MRI as the SFX do not show up on regular x rays. Only when they have healed.

    IF it truly is another SFX I’m insisting on a bone density test. I’m just that this could happen to me again. I train slow and smart. Wear good shoes. Am not a new runner. I just can’t figure out what the problem is.

    Until I see him I’m sticking to the ellipitical and weights for workouts. I know from experience continuing to run will do more harm than good.

    Anyway, KUTGW everybody!

    Morning Vikki and LCC !

    LCC … girlie … so sorry about the pain you are experiencing and hoping and praying its NOT the stress fracture issue! You’re doing the RIGHT thing stopping the running … and believe me I know how difficult it is to do that!

    Please let us know what the doctor says. Meanwhile, rest up .. there are good alternatives to running (well maybe not GOOD, but at least *something*….)

    As for me .. well its my birthday, so DH and DD and I are going to WDW today since I can think of no better place to be! I MICKEY! Lots of walking there so the workout will be the icing on my LC birthday cake!

    For lunch, heading to Dixie Crossroads in Titusville (by Cape Canaveral) for the best rock shrimp in the USA !

    Upped my sets to 3 but wasn’t able to knock out 15 reps each yet. Definitely getting stronger and burning fat. I lost 4 lbs. this week.

    I want to! But Mondays I always come into work an hour earlier than normal, and of course Sunday evenings are hard to get to sleep as the weekend throws my sleeping pattern haywire. How do people cope when they are physically tired? I can barely keep my eyes open. I try my best to not sleep at all until bedtime and I go to bed early on Mondays.

    Maybe a different type of exercise would be good for me for Mondays?

    Any ideas?

    Aaack! I promised these ladies I do this strength class with them this morning in lieu of the normal weight training I do … I am not a "class" kinda person, lol!!!!! This should be interesting …. So:

    1 hour Strength Training class <eek>

So who’s working out today?

    When running, i find the exact opposite … a nice rest of your body like that has often resulted in my very best runs and times!!!! Think positive Girl!!!!

    As for me:

    40 min cardio on elliptical
    40 min strength class … not looking forward to it …

Good morning everyone!

So who is working out today?

I haven’t worked out this whole weekend. I did do crunches Saturday and did try to do a firm tape, that went way to fast so I gave up on it. But apparently I did enough for my thighs to hurt. I am going to run on the treadmill tonight, I just hope old betsy hangs in there. She is on her last leg.

    Okay, I’ve planned for several weeks for this to be my first day back on plan and first day to work out. I used to work out all the time but haven’t done anyting in probably over a year now! Of course I wake up this morning and think "oh, do I really want to do this". I have nothing better to do and starting is the hardest part I know. So, even if I don’t do much I’m going to take my butt to the gym and do either walk on the treadmill or do the eliptical for atleast 20 minutes. I know I will, I know I will!

Good morning everyone!

I’m back from San Antonio TX and ready to get working out again. I only ran one day while there but we had to get up pretty early a couple mornings to be at Lackland AFB to see our son’s graduation ceremony’s. But we walked everywhere.
I think I did okay with the eating, but I need to weigh myself and see what the scale says.

So who’s working out today?

Well I will do my 4 mile run after work tonight.

I am going to try to get a 4 mile run in after work, but the weather channel is saying that there is a chance of thunderstorms at around the time I would go for my run. So if its raining out I will do 3 miles on the treadmill.

    Now that the days are getting shorter, and cycling isn’t possible after work, I’m back on my winter workout schedule, which means I get my cardio in the early morning 3 days a week. Today I did an iTread workout – 40 mins. of hills, sprints and steady state fast walking. I love the way I feel when I work out in the mornings.

    Started out yesterday with a 30 minute walk on the treadmill, and repeated it today.

Hopefully all of you are, because it is the best way to continue losing the pounds, and toning up.

I am going to do my run when I get off work, I will do my 3.5 mile run.
I am down 20 pounds as of yesterday, and so excited about getting the rest of the weight off.

    OKay . . . I’m trying to get back into regular posting. Been off and on for the past 6 months, and of course it shows. Anyways, yes! I’m working out today. Will be going to the YMCA ("it’s fun to stay at the" . . . ) for stretching, bike and elliptical, followed by playing in the pool with my kids. Went twice last week; shooting for 3 times this week!

    Just joined a gym and I’m currently trying out the different classes – tonight is Group Groove – an hour of dance/aerobics to Urban/Latin tunes – should be fun!

    Speaking of working out – I know sometimes you gain muscle after a workout, making the scale go up. I had a Group class with weights yesterday, so I went up about a half pound – think it could be my swollen muscles?

    I got up at 5am and did Cardio Sculpt which is from THe Firm. It really kicked my butt. I am walking 2-3 miles today

    And yes Aijarama- your muscles retain water after you lift weights. Depending on the amount of weight and pushing yourself your can retain water in your muscles for 24-48 hours.

    tonight is my ‘hell night’ Ellyptical for cardio, stretch out then an hour of pilates, then arm lifting *yawn* Im tired just thinking of it, but I’ll feel really nice and stretched and loose tonight!

    I know! I did a spinning class and a power (light weights with a lot of movement) class yesterday – you dread it, but once you get outta there, it’s like a mini-rejuventation! WTG with that hour of pilates, Des, and good luck to everyone working out today – all part of the journey to have as little loose skin as possible!

    Ran 1 mile this morning at 4. I have a knee problem where the knee cap doesn’t bend the right way due to under-development of the muscle in my inner thigh. As soon as I get that muscle built up I should be able to increase my mileage. But it was a nice wakeup.

Good morning or afternoon whatever time it may be.

I am going to do my run when I get off work tonight. I’m not sure yet if I’m doing a 4 mile or a 3.5 mile run. But I will be doing a run when I get off work.

Its Monday who’s working out today

Just thought I would get this post started, I will be doing my workout when I get off work tonight. So I will post my workout later. I usually get up anywhere between 4:30 and 5:30 and the treadmill can be very loud so I don’t want to wake up the rest of the family.
But anyway I hope to see lots of posts here, and hope everyone meets their goals this week. Keep up the hard work, in the end its all worth the hard work.

    Going to go to the gym and walk alittle today, I haven’t walked in a while, so I am going to start out with 1/2 a mile and build back up to 2… I was walking 2 miles several time a week before I had a car accident,… time to get back at it…. Then this evening I am going to water ballet…. sounds like fun….

    I think I ran too much this weekend but I know that the only way to feel better is to hit the pavement again. I was going to run before work, but I’m just too sore from being an idiot Saturday and Sunday…lol

    Maribesse, it’s working great for me. I’m really losing inches. I’ve been doing it faithfully for about two months and went down a size in jeans before I started losing any weight. It’s a little on the boring side, and the outfits and hairstyles are like a blast from the past, but it’s effective enough for me to keep doing it.

    Is he one of the ones who went into cardiac arrest? Oh wait, there were 2 men who had CA DURING the marathon, they did not finish.

    I went for a nice (power) walk yesterday. Started out running and said to self "I don’t HAVE to run" so I didn’t.

It’s Monday, who’s working out today?

I’m off to do my 30 minute run (hopefully a longer one). My right foot has been bothering me and I had too stop exercise last week. I was doing a speed of 4.2-4.3 and now I’ll probably be back to a speed of 4.0!!! I guess not bad considering I wear a knee brace.

I’m waiting on my Zumba fitness DVD’s to arrive sometime next week and I can NOT wait too start them. My friend is taking a class and loves it so we shall see. It even comes with cute little cha-cha sticks. LOL

    My right foot is still swollen a bit from Saturday, I think because I kind of tend to lead with that foot on the treadmill. I’m going to the gym after work tonight for my 1 hour 5.5k on the treadmill, but will switch to a spin bike if it starts to kill too bad. I may stop at a pharmacy on the way home from work and see if I can pick up a foot brace to get some extra support. If I find one we’ll see whether that helps or whether I should stay off the treadmill for a while… or get new shoes.. both of which I don’t want to do
    Anyway, so 5.5k on the treadmill (1 hour) and once I get home 60 reverse crunches and some arm work with 8kg freeweights.
    I just started the arm and ab work last week but my jeans already seem looser. I just went down to this size last week and they were pretty uncomfortably tight.. but..     Oh and to exercise my *mind* and start thinking TRAINING, I’m gonna start reading "Marathonining for Mortals" by John Bingham. Its a great read and it will get me on the road to training which starts in about 5 weeks !

    Going to the gym at 4pm for strength workout a session on the rowing machine. 2000m, rather than a length of time. In fact, that’s all about getting the time to 2000m shorter and shorter.

    I am puttin gmy shoes on now and doing a 3 mile run that I sooo do not want to do. But, just like yesterday, I will feel so much better after.

    Been to the gym this morning to do a weightlifting class and will go back this afternoon for yoga. I might even go back tonight for Zumba class tonight. I work funny hours and Monday this week is my day off so I get as much in as possible. Tues and Wed I work so I will only walk during my breaks and do sit-up and crunch before work.

    Then, a trip to the mall to Charlotte Russe to get those JEANS !

    After that .. abs/arms with weights with the help of my beloved DH who helps me on and off the floor ! God bless that man ! For 30+ years he has put up with me !!!

    I will do my usual 45 minute walk.

    I went on an 8 mile bike ride with my family yesterday through a nature perserve. It was very enjoyable. My legs do not like the motion of bike riding but I did fine.

    Well, I’m ashamed to say this but…..I haven’t done notta one thing far as exercise goes for TWO weeks, we’ve had rain, I’ve been blah & just full of excuses. So, today I am hitting the pavement for a 4 mile (maybe more) walk/run. Wish me luck!

    DH helped me get on the floor where I did MEGA arm work today. Lifting many reps with the 8 pound weights (in each hand) and many reps with the weight stick (12 pounds). Good triceps work too. The arms are shakey .. which is ALL GOOD !! I also managed 60 crunches.

    I weighed in this morning (that was a TRICK!) and have lost about 3 pounds since surgery. Not sure how *that* happened as I’ve been eating really good ! Steak and shrimp last Wednesday, Ribs and shrimp on Saturday, Chilis 8 oz sirloin and veggies yesterday and on tap for today: filet and lobster.

    Dang, what a diet!!

    Way to go! Before you know it you will be able to run that 5k. Do you have a race picked out yet? Try googling 5k races in your area or check with local sports/running store.

    Not sure what I will do exactly…either will stay inside on the elliptical or go outside to run. Right now, I’m leaning towards running.

    I ran in a 5k yesterday in downtown Chicago along Lake Michigan and had so much fun!! I tried to convince my sister to do the 10k with me but she wanted to try and beat her time in a 5k she ran in last week. That was my first race and I would love to do more- but I don’t do it for time so much. I just run to feel good.

    Been to the gym this morning. I’m off work this week. I normally go after work and it’s all about getting in quick, getting round quick and out again. This morning I could take my time and relax a bit in the sauna afterwards too. Nice.

    SQUAT DAY!

    45 minutes of leg-blasting weight-lifting fun in my garage.

    I am within 5 pounds of my personal best record in the squat – actually, I just realized I beat it today. Awesome. I am making fantastic gains in strength and I’ve lost half an inch off my butt and waist this week – that’s half an inch EACH.

    Then I did leg extensions and hamstrings, good workout. Crawl in the house and collapse in front of the computer.

    I am very pleased I made myself go out and do it – we got up at 4 AM this morning and I couldn’t have gotten it then. I had a nasty gallbladder attack all day and yesterday but I did it anyway!

    Last week I would leave the house planning to run and end up riding the exercise bicycle. No energy. It got better by Saturday and I took yesterday off. Today, in a few minutes, I am going to a five mile route I got marked off and see what I can do with it.

    I am going to be doing my 100 crunches and 100 push ups, I skipped them this weekend, but now i’m back on track. Plus, I’ll be taking DD out for a walk and getting a set of dumbbells so I can do exercisetv workouts better.

    I am training for a du-athelon (I am sure it’s spelled wrong) which involves
    2 mile run, 5 mile bike, run again, bike again. No swimming. Which is good becaue swimming is HARD!!!!

    Had my gallbladder surgery this morning so no workouts for a little while although I do have the ok for gentle biking on the indoor bike if I feel up to it. I’ll start tomorrow and see how it goes….

    Well, we got a Wii this weekend and today I was playing around with it and did the boxing and baseball for 45 minutes. Not really real exercise but I was up and moving and I did start to break a sweat!!

    I went to the gym and did ninety minutes on the elliptical- 1 hour on the glute interval program, 30 on the interval. I hope to get in a long walk this afternoon but feeling a bit lazy for some reason!

    I got 30K steps on my pedometer yesterday which was huge because it is only the 2nd time that has happened
