New lo carber needing menu advice
Okay, here is what I ate today.
Breakfast: hard boiled egg
later in the morning an Atkins bar
Lunch: 2 cups romaine with cucumber, celery broccoli and ranch dressing
Snack: Atkins bar
Dinner: My husband and I stopped (unexpectedly) at Applebee’s. I had a difficult time making a decision on what to eat. Here is what I chose.
Margherita chicken with 2 servings of steamed vegetables (opted out of baked potato) and water with Real Lemon and Stevia.
I seek advice. Thanks for the help.

Ugh Atkins bars.I eat them once in a while seem to stall me in bit and i am SUPER sensitive with SA! I am glad to see you are using stevia in your Lemon and water.
I would say to add more fat, that would make me hungry. When i go out to eat i get a steak and mixed vegetables,a salad with chicken or fajita w/o tortillas with extra guacamole, lettuce and sour cream!

First of all, I’d like to congratulate you on making a decent choice at a restaurant. Many of us lose our resolve when faced with all the carby menu options.
Secondly, lose the Atkins bars. They are pure unadulterated C-R-A-P.
Thirdly, your breakfast and lunch are both too small. You need more than just one hard boiled egg to carry you through the morning. You also need some protein with your lunch.
This is a typical Induction menu, weighing in at just above 1700 calories, and with a 65/31/4 percentage (fat/protein/carb):
B: 2 eggs cooked in 1T butter, 3 strips bacon, 8 oz coffee with 1 oz cream
S: 1 oz cheese
L: 1 can tuna, 2T mayonnaise, 1 cup shredded lettuce, 6 grape tomatoes, 1/4 cup cucumber
S: 1 oz cream cheese, 2 celery stalks
D: 8 oz steak (weighed before cooking), 1 cup green beans cooked in 1T olive oil
I hope you find this helpful.

Welcome to low carbing! But you definitely do need menu advice if that’s a typical day’s food intake for you. You barely ate any food at all. I’d have been ready to gnaw my arm off by dinner time. Did you miss out typing what you had with the salad at lunchtime, or did you really only have salad? Your "snacks" probably had more calories than the "meals" at breakfast and lunch.
Sorry to sound a bit harsh, but if you try to eat so few calories every day, you won’t last. You’ll just be too hungry and you probably won’t lose much weight either. Wouldn’t you rather be eating something like the menu KlingonBabe posted?
Are you doing a particular low carb plan? People will be able to help you more if you specify what your plan is. Going by what you’ve posted, that’s simply a low calorie diet.

Thanks so much for the help! No one was harsh. I need help. How did I do at Applebee’s? I tried to find the carbs before and ordered and couldn’t. Only the Weight Watchers points. I checked on the internet when I got home and had no luck. Did I choose poorly?

They describe the margherita chicken as :
Step into Italy with slices of melted mozzarella & Parmesan cheeses and fresh bruschetta resting on a tender grilled chicken breast with a tangy balsamic glaze. Served with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Not sure what they added to their balsamic glaze but it was a wise choice.

I second what Klingonbabe suggested. Please lose the bars and focus on whole, unprocessed foods..you’ll see better results.
Also, are you exercising? How much water are you drinking a day? Do you take vitamins?

I do the Becky Tirabassi walking workout with my Ipod. It is fairly intense and lasts 45 minutes. I LOVE doing it, so I do it about every day. I do need to increase my water intake.
Why are the ATkins bars so bad?

It’s a processed frankenfood. The carb count is not really so low-glycerine has been deducted from the count.

Welcome to the LC world!
I agree with everyone else that you are not eating enough. If you are hungry, EAT.
That’s the beauty of lc – no starvation. I also agree to lose the frankenfoods. I always stall with any of that stuff. Stick with real food as much as possible.
At Applebees I LOVE their steak caesar salad w/no croutons. But I think you made a good choice – much better than jumping off track.
