LOL… same here! I’ve never loved Fayetteville and never planned on staying, but just worked out that way after a divorce. Since I’ve had to raise my son on my own, stability was more important than picking up and leaving on a whim just because I’m not crazy about this location. And with the ecomony as it is, I’m just thankful to have a roof over my head and a job!

Girl no KIDDING, I have been down here since Nov 2006, I had 4 interviews, had 2 jobs, both stayed at them for 2 months, then left, one was at a hotel, I was front desk, i had a 9 hr shift, i couldn’t sit down, take a break, or EVEN GET LUNCH. with my insulin , that was a disaster, I basically had to eat 2 meals at night and gained so much weight, so I left that job.

next one was at a grocery store, the manager was a BI***, she made it seem she was doing me a favor by giving me $7.50 an hour, and I have a college degree and student loans to prove it LOL, anyways, i figured i ‘ll get some spending money, but then she wanted me to work night shift, 10-7, and I said for $15 an hour I would, she was pissed LOL, i left a week later.

I don’t really know how this job thing is going to pan, we have large corps here, but they don’t pay well, and I can’t make a living that way. I live with family now, so if I get a job, it has to cover at least gas. couldn’t do much with $7.5 hourly. so I’m talking this time to get healthy and excercise, which I have been doing daily. I applied to over 500 jobs since I came here but nothing came thru YET. how are you doing with ur diet excercise, other aspects of your life?

    Linda Faye – Hello!

fieldofroses – Wow, so sorry to hear about the job hunt. I happen to work in a Human Resources office. And I just found out Friday that we are now under a HIRING FREEZE! That really made me feel "un-nerved."

As for the diet and exercise, I’m doing great! I only had 20 lbs to lose and I got that off last fall. I was doing a lot of walking, then finally added some wimpy hand weights late in the year.

But as of January 5, I kicked it up a notch and started the Couch to 5K Program and increased hand weights and added abs. I am not a runner, so doing Couch to 5K is totally out of character for me. The hand weights I do with a Kathy Smith video. This new plan is 6 days a week:

4:30 am – Rise and Shine!
4:45 am – Walk dog (this is wakeup/warm up time, takes 17 min)
    5:15 am – Couch to 5K workout
5:45 am – Hand weights (alternate upper/lower each day) and abs
6:15 am – Get ready for work!
1:00 pm – Walk 2.5 miles during lunch hour (most weekdays)
7:00 pm Thursdays – Belly dance class! (This is a crazy new thing I just started too. Been to 3 classes so far.)

I’ve been feeling better than ever since starting this new exercise routine and I actually enjoy it (something I never thought possible). I’ve been down and out for a few days due to having a cold, but I think I’m back at it tomorrow.

    How are you ladies doing?

By the way, I don’t mean to make it sound like everything is honky dory. I do battle portion control and binge eating. I typically don’t go for carbs, but I over indulge low carb foods at times. Trying to address this issue.

OMG, u should check out the challenge I started "fit into your dream outfit challenge, here is the link:FIT INTO YOUR DREAM OUTFIT CHALLENGE
when you do , you’ll know why lol (check out my dream outfits)
ok I’ll tell you, I LOVE BELLY DANCE. I’m from arab descent and grew up with belly dance, I want to become a pro, but I have about 100 lbs to lose, already close to losing the first 50 lbs. yaaay. who are you studying with, I usually just have my music and dance, I’m getting better, but losing the weight will make a huge difference. your schedule sounds hectic, I usually sleep at 4:30 a.m yikes, I know the "hiring freeze" is everywhere, our local board of education announced one today, so no more teachers geeez. I think somethings need to fall apart to built up properly now, things have been crazy for 8 years, so I think all this craziness is just the end, I hope.

I have to say, the binging and portion control is an issue for most of us, so no bad feelings, I have to say, Having managed my PCOS symptoms for the past few months, gives me motivation to eat clean, so I know if I put something in my mouth, I’m paying for it with insane abdominal pain and headaches, NO thanks.

Hope all is going well, and have a fantastic week, I’ll check in here often and chit chat, ur a sweetie.

I’m studying with Rachel (Alexandra) with the Shadows of the Fire here in Fayetteville. And a DVD, "You Can Belly Dance: Absolute Beginner Belly Dance." I ordered another DVD, but it’s not here yet, "Belly Dance Basics and Beyond" with Jenna.

I posted to your other thread… so see you there!
