Vegetarian and LC – HELP me please~

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Hi,

I have been waffling about this for quite a while and really need some help.

First wondered where do most people that are here that are veggie, post?

Is there a forum for veggies doing LC? If not it sure would be great.

I want to stop the meat and all the fat for a while to work on my liver/gall bladder.

I want to stay as LC as possible because last time I did this the fruit I was eating caused very bad cravings.

I could really use some help.
What do you eat (can’t do cheese right now) besides soy (can’t have that either!) for protein? Beans, I am wondering if they are too high carb?

I can do eggs – but I can’t think of anything else?

Can anyone help?

I need meal ideas. I am really frustrated.
Besides salads (which I love – and will have one every day for lunch) what can I do for breakfasts and dinners?

I am really desperate.

I drink plenty of water and my throat is always dry?

Friday, March 20th, 2009

This just started last week. I’ve been drinking plenty of water, chewing gum, even drinking hot tea. Any of you have any suggestions? I don’t want to go to the store just buying up stuff that I think will help. We’re in a recession I’m trying to save all I can. And also could the diet be the cause of this? Do some of you have the same problem? I’ve never really had dry throat like this before.

Help…can’t fast walk due to heel pain and need to exercise

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Hi guys!

Ok…I have plantar fascitious in my heel due to walking at my school (hard floors, no stretching, overweight= pain!) Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion on another exercise I could do for aerobic exercise. Would stationary biking work? I was thinking of buying a recumbant bike. I can walk fine during my daily activities but if I walk fast for exercise then I pay the next day. By the way…don’t do what I did, please stretch before you exercise!

Also, I am frustrated this week cuz I have not had any weight loss, despite sticking to my normal eating behavior. Last week I lost seven pounds so that is probably why. I could use some words of wisdom/ support though to keep me motivated (although I will NOT quit).
Thanks!!

Egg Creams and pregnancy?

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Hello all,
I haven’t posted here in years, but am currently pregnant with my 2nd child and have been gaining weight a little too quickly for my liking. I am 22 weeks pregnant and have been lowering my carb intake the past few days to keep from gaining too much in the 2nd half of my pregnancy. I wanted to ask – i’ve read that many of you feel it is safe to eat raw eggs in egg creams. Ihave never tried one, but want to because they sound yummy and i am not a fan of cooked eggs. My question is, do you think it’s safe even as a pregnant gal?
I wanted to add that I am inspired by all of you – i read this forum like an addict but hardly ever post because over the past few years, i ‘ve been on and off this diet so many times it’s embarrassing. However, I do know that i feel great and lose weight when i do cut out the junk, sugar and processed foods!
Thanks for any advice! – Jodie

pork rinds and ranch dressing . . . oh my!

Friday, March 20th, 2009

I finally found pork rinds — I swear, nobody sells them near me! I got Utz BBQ flavor, and dipped them into some ranch dressing. Oh my — crunchy, salty, ranchy — it was a little bit a cruchified heaven! And, no funky/piggy flavor, that I got the last time I tried a pork rind!

The bad news is that there’s no stop signal on these babies. Like, you can only eat SO MUCH steak, before you just have to stop. Here, it’s salty air — I could have eaten a whole bag. In fact, I think I ate half a bag, and way too much ranch, before I locked it away!

The good news is that I didn’t go off plan. The bad news is that I may never pee again! I can’t imagine how much sodium was in there — I’ve been drinking water for HOURS now, and haven’t had to go.

Tomorrow’s weigh-in should be . . . interesting!
