Confused over Nutrition info. on item on Linda Sue’s site.

Alright, so I am somewhat confused here. I was going to make Moonchild’s Cheeseburger Bacon Quiche but with ground turkey instead. So, I put all the ingredients into fitday with the ground turkey, and it tells me that the nutrition info is almost DOUBLE what is listed here on the page for it being made with ground beef. And yes, for the same amount of servings. Now I’m confused, Am I doing something wrong with calculating the info. or is fitday really off, or are these the wrong nutritin info for the recipe?

Here is the nutrition info. for with ground beef for 8 servings:
Per 1/8 Recipe: 296 Calories; 26g Fat; 13g Protein; 2g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs

And here is what fitday.com tells me it is with ground turkey subbed for the beef:
382.8 Calories; 22g fat; 18.83 protein; 5.21g carbs

I have a colon issue, made worst by low fiber in doing low carbs. So I bought some ‘natural fiber’ from the grocery store. psyllium seed husk fiber -20 calories, 5 g carbs= having dietary fiber of 3 g and soluble fiber of 2 grams per teaspoon–suppose to take 3 teaspoons per day.
Do I count all the 5 carbs x 3?
What makes net fiber? does it matter? or only total carbs on Atkins.

Maybe I need to go to a colon doctor, who started all these problems when I had a colonoscopy 2 years ago. I can’t live the next 20 years on enemas!
What is that kind of specialist called? Last time my GP said ‘well, sometimes it happens to people, sometimes it gets better and sometimes it doesn’t’. Great.

Im so confused by all the anti atkins info

what is the truth? for every article and study you find that praises atkins..there are double that bashing the atkins approach and I have read some horrible personal stories about atkins as well…high cholesterol, heart disease, high blood pressure, high sodium…I just dont get it…

What the book says makes perfect sense to me but I already have high cholesterol and I dont want to make it worse….

I was thinking of doing a healthier version of atkins like…chicken breasts..fish…salads…and olive oil instead of butter and other fats….

Please help me? tell me if you have gotten a check up and have had improved cholesterol numbers ? anything…I am just so torn thanks so much guys!!

Well I always understood that high cholesterol was unhealthy. Since starting a low carb WOE mine dropped from 4.74 to 3.02 in around three months, which I was very pleased with. Especially as the nutritionist nurse who took my blood was preaching the evils of low carb and eating more than three eggs a week – she was insistent that my cholesterol results would prove me wrong – HA!

But I’ve read that high cholesterol isn’t hazardous to health and that infact a very low cholesterol level can be harmful

can someone give me a quick "Cholesterol For Dummies" lesson – or point me to a link that has a definitive explanation.

I’m proud of my recent cholesterol levels and use it (and my reduced blood pressure) as evidence against the anti low carb contingent – but should I worry about cholesterol at all?

Okay, I’m new here and see that some of you follow Atkin’s and some just do LC. So here’s my dumb question: What are the differences? I just need an easy no nonsense plan to lose weight and get healthy. My goal is to lose 30 lbs. So far I’m doing ok eating low carb, not exactly the Atkin’s way. So this is my dilema, Low Carb or Atkins LC?? Hope this makes sense!

BTW, what does WOE stand for?

I started Locarb many years ago. It took me a long time to get into the mind set of high fat (good fats) and locarb, but I did it and loved it. I had not been losing weight recently so I decided to do locarb weight watchers. I did great, but the only thing I could really eat was chicken! I got board very easily and started cheating. As of tomorrow, I am commited to do what I have to do for the next 30 years to get healthy and loose this 30 lbs!

My biggest problem is that I love beer. I do great during the week, but on the weekends I love to have a few beers, which totally blows the week. With WW I could have the beer (saving my points) and not have a problem.

I have come to realize that I am trying to make this a way of life. I need to find a balance. I want to have fun on the weekend (especially in the summer). Is that too much to ask?????

If I continue with the WW and 1200 calories per day, by the time I reach goal weight, I will only be eating 900 calories per day which is so not what I want! I need and love to eat!

Has anyone else had this problem and solved it????????????????
