"diet" orange crush has carbs!

I’m so mad – I’ve never came across a diet soda that had carbs or calories, until now. After drinking an entire case of diet orange crush, I happened to look at the label. 25 calories, and 6 carbs! I knew about the whole .5 carbs per diet pop thing, but this is just stupid! So read your labels! Thought I was safe with any diet soda, but I guess not!

Do you hve a DH or DW who you wish would jump on the LC wagon with you? Maybe they need to lose the weight just as much, if not more than you?

In the last 8 years I’ve had 2 children and put on what feels like a permanent 30-35 pounds. My sweet hubby has added about 10, but totally lost the chiseled look he had when we married. (sigh.) I know it’s hypocritical to look at the situation this way, but I wish he’d get back to sexy, too. At least I’m trying!

What have you done to "help" your SO get in shape?

My son has lost 10 pounds and I am in onedurland YES!!!

So this is a BIG day for my son and I. I am finally down to 199 and he has lost 10 pounds in the last week since starting low carb. I started back on reinduction about 3 weeks ago. My son doesnt really care what the scale says but he was so excited to show me how is pants are looser and how his shirts dont show his "tum tum". I am so proud of him because he is only 10 and has really shown he wants to change and support me. His Grandma offered him some cookies the other day and he refused. His favorite food was Grandma cookies so that is quite an accomplishment.

I had written this on another thread about ideas for is lunch but wanted to add it here.
I dont want to make my son feel like he is on a diet, or trade food at lunch, or feel different than his friends. I dont want weight to feel like a issue and bring down his very high self esteem so I am trying to be careful on how I go about doing all this. I got him Dance Dance revolution 2 for Wii (he got all A’s and B’s on his report card) he loves it and I never would have guessed the amount of stamina it takes to do it. He did song after song and was sweating and having a ball. I am so proud of him. He is really trying to get me to work out with him and it is so sweet I just cant stay no. My husband and other 2 sons are skinny minnys so it is nice we have each other. He is only ten and was 100 pounds, he is on the shorter side. NOW HE IS 90 POUNDS, although we are not focusing on his weight scale number but how he feels in his clothes.

So anyway we are having a great day and I just had to share!!!

Has Anyone Done the Fat Fast?

I hope I’m not beginning to sound like the new whiner on the block, but I am seeing the same kind of results on Atkins Induction now (almost at 4 weeks in) that I always have: initially drop a little weight, and then just bounce around that weight indefinitely.

I lost 3 pounds the first week, 1 the second. Then in the last 11 days, I’m just up and down 2 pounds. Today, I’m up. (This is after having a day yesterday of being hungry a lot and eating more than usual.)

Last week, I started taking measurements. Even those are bouncing around. I was down 3/4 inch on my waist mid-week, but today back to where I was the first time I measured.

I’ve tried cutting out cheese. I’ve avoided all sweeteners (the one time I did try a little Splenda, it was just too sweet and gave me a headache). I don’t know exactly how many calories or grams each of fat and protein I’m getting, but I’m keeping my carbs always under 20, and usually right at 15 per day.

I’m thinking of trying the fat fast, though I dread it. And I’m not at all sure how eating cream cheese and macadamia nuts will cause things to change in my body. The total carb count will still be around 12g per day. Is that a enough difference to do anything? Has anyone here done the fat fast? If so, for how long, and what did you eat, and did it work?

Well, I’m off to the treadmill, again.
