Hi everyone!

I’m new on here, and spent about an hour reading through posts and decided to sign up. I def need the support, as most people I know are anti-Atkins, or don’t think I "need" a diet.

Let’s see… I started Atkins (induction) on February 1, 2009. Weighing in at 142, I’m 5′3. I’m currently 129.5/130. My goal is around 117-120. I’ve not been this size (130) since high school.

Today has by far, been my most difficult day since starting Atkins. It’s been exactly a month, and for some reason, I’m struggling today with cravings. I’ve been downing ice water, and a diet cherry 7up. And so far so good… I just keep telling myself if I cheat, I’ll jerk my body out of ketosis!

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, and now off to read some posts to keep myself on track, and motivated :-)

I’m new, just want to say hi!

Hello. I’m very new to all of this, just started last Tuesday with my husband. We’ve been wanting to make a change for a while now, but when the doctor told my husband last Tuesday that he was obese and needed to lose 20 pounds in 3 months, we put our foot down, stopped talking about losing weight and started actually doing it. We’ve chosen the Atkins diet after a lot of research. I’ve had 3 children over the last 6 years. After my first, I did WW, hated it. Every moment of it. I was hungry all of the time, and it took a long 7 months to lose 30 pounds. So far after 1 week, he has lost 13 pounds (men) and I am down 6. Feeling pretty good, but I’m finding that I am getting dehydrated a lot. Is that normal? I’m probably drinking about 100oz of water a day. Anyway, just wanted to say hi, introduce myself and also say thank you for all of the great advice and recipes that I’ve found on here-they are lifesavers, literally.

Hi there, I’m new here!

Hello everyone! I am excited to be here. A lady at the hair salon yesterday, whom I got into wonderful conversation with, told me about this forum, so I decided to join. I could definitely use some guidance!

A little background about myself:

My name is Kris, I live in metro Atlanta, Georgia with my husband of almost 3.5 years. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs. I am a student and homemaker. I keep a very clean, organized home! Due to PCOS, we’ve struggled with Infertility since 2006. I went through treatments, procedures, etc. That brings me here (& we are on a TTC break!):

I started a new way of healthy eating in December. (nearly 3 years recovered from ED) Since January 16th I’ve lost a total of 11lbs, but have been at this new current weight for 2 weeks. It is incredibly frustrating. I am ready to learn how to manage symptoms and lose the weight! I still get confused time to time on what I *should* be consuming due to the syndrome, so that is why I joined. I also exercise 4 times a week doing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and I love it!!

I look very forward to meeting all of you & being apart of this site. I do warn ahead of time that I tend to ask a lot of questions, so please bare with me. lol
