Been on Atkins for over a year, and am still at induction level!!

OK, I need help.

First, the stats. 6′ 3" 38 year old Male. I started at 309 lbs., and am currently at 283 lbs. I have been limiting myslef to right at or less than 20 carbs a day, and am stuck where I am.

My BMI is 2034, and my recommended daily caloric intake is 3152. Here is a two day example of my menu:

Day One

Breakfast

1 serving Peanuts
4 slices Bacon
4 Breakfast Sausage Links

Snack

3 Servings Pork Rinds

Lunch

3 Grilled Chicken Tenders
1 Smoked Pork Rib

Dinner

1 Sausage Link
1 Cup Lettuce
2 Servings Casaer Dressing
1 Medium Smoked Pork Chop
1 Smoked Pork Rib

Day Two

Breakfast

2 tblspn Whipped Cream
1 Cup Almonds
5 Slices Bacon

Snack

2 Servings Pork Rinds

Lunch

4 Servings Rotessorie Chicken
1 Cup lettuce
3 mini peppers

Dinner

3 Servings Rotessorie Chicken
1 Cup Lettuce
2 Servings Casaer Dressing
1 Medium Smoked Pork Chop
1 Smoked Pork Rib

I exercise 5-6 Days a week, and I am totally stuck. I am beyond frustrated. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

P.S. I also use smokless tobacco.

Energy Level

I’m sure you’ve been asked this a hundred times – and I apologize! But, I’m having a hard time with constantly feeling tired. It hit me like a slap in the face on day 3 of the program. I felt so sick and just wanted to sleep all the time. After 7 days, I felt somewhat better but some days I still feel very, very tired. I noticed on Sunday I ate a low carb tortilla for breakfast, the most carbs I have consumed in one meal, and felt terrific all day long. I’m eating between 18 – 25 carbs a day. Am I not getting enough carbs? Should I just give this more time (I’ve just passed week 3). Please let me know what has worked for you. Thank you!

Do I stay in level one until I lose all the weight?

I have been reading conflicting information on how long to stay in level one. Some say until I reach my goal, others say never for more than a week.

I lost weight on level 1 in the 1st week then added 20 grams of carbs, ketosis stopped and I haven’t lost anything in two weeks since. So I’m assuming I should go back to level 1… right?

Is the "fat fast" recommended for me in this state? The book says it’s fore very resistant people.

Cholestrol level

Was just wondering if anyone that is on the Atkins Diet has had problems with their cholestrol & if so how are your levels now? My husband has been on this diet for that reason plus blood pressure & is amazed at what the diet has done for both. His cholestrol is very good now & blood pressure is also down. His Dr. is very pleased and so is my husband which is why he is remaining on the diet…he don’t need to loose anymore weight but is watching closely how many carbs he intakes.

Does VWPP effect your ketosis level?

I bought some vanilla whey protein powder yesterday and used it last night. I checked my ketones before and after using it last night. I found that I dropped 2 levels. I did not change anything else that I was eating and was in deep ketosis before.
I used the vwpp again this morning to see if it is going to knock me completely out of ketosis.
Just wondered if anyone else has this same problem??

If I am completely knocked out of ketosis today, I will be giving this new jar of powder to my daughter. She does not have to be as strict as I do.
