Well, it’s not Feb 1 but I’m finally here.

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Whew! My goal was to be at 150 by Feb. 1st. Today the scale finally hit it. I’m not disappointed I didn’t meet my timeline. I’m thrilled I’ve lost 14 pounds since Jan. 2nd. Even though I have only lost 2 pounds in six weeks, my body shape has changed, I am fitting into old clothes, my hunger level has decreased and my energy level has increased.

So for those of you who have been losing slowly….don’t despair….hang in there…..you can do it.

Things I have been doing well:
carb friendly foods in the fridge at all times
exercise
watching carbs and calories

Things needing improvement:
more water
more veggies
less alcohol

not a good scale day…

Monday, March 16th, 2009

The past few days I have been eating way too much. And apparently it has caught up with me. This morning I stepped on the scale and weighed 132. I am so bummed. I was about 130 last week.

I know I am retaining a ton of water, I have been drinking way too much diet soda. And this morning I can feel it, my eyes feel so squinty and my hands and feet are swollen with water retention.

So today, I’m getting back on eating better. I really need to cut back on my cheese, I KNOW that is the big problem. And, I need to start working out 5 days a week, instead of skipping every day.

Now that I’ve posted this here, I am holding myself accountable. I really need to lose this weight, and I can’t eat whatever I want, even if its "Safe induction foods".

A thinner Ashley starts RIGHT NOW.

the scale is NOT the best judge :-)

soo… earlier today i was super bummed about the scale, and gaining weight this week.

i just booked a vacation to las vegas w/ my mom for may, and i’m going to AZ in april to visit a friend. so i’m a bit freaked out about buying new clothes, because i haven’t bought summer clothes in two years (i rarely go out, and who needs summer-type clothes when you work in an air-conditioned building).

i pulled out some old jean skirts, to see if they fit. and low and behold, they did! they are size 6 abercrombie & fitch skirts from HIGH SCHOOL. i held on to them just because i wanted to one day fit into them.

i guess it’s just a reminder, that the scale isn’t always the best way to gauge how your weight loss is going, or how far you may or may not have come.

i feel a lot better and more motivated to continue this lifestyle, and 100% more into this WOE. its just unreal that clothes that didn’t go over my hips, and now fitting, and i’m eating such delicious foods!

C H O C O L A T E is NOT a dirty word…….

At least I hope it’s not……

OK, the good news. I’m NOT a chocoholic. I actually can eat a small amount and walk away.

The bad news…I’m don’t care for dark chocolate.

Just trying to figure out what I can keep on hand to just have a nibble.
Obviously there are plenty of choices with sugar alcohols…I’d like to avoid those.

The chocolate powders (hot chocolate, pudding, etc.) are fine, but not what I’m looking for here. I just want a small piece of s/f chocolate!

Suggestions? What can I buy or make?

Sometimes Fitday Is Not Nice To Me (rant)

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

I made the most delicious broccoli cheddar and bacon soup today! I split it in half, ate half of it for breakfast/lunch and was going to bring the other half to work for my dinner (so this is all I would be eating today). I put my ingredients into fitday to find out my totals for the day….2340 calories and 30 grams carbs!

So I guess I won’t be bringing it for dinner and instead will be opting for a low-cal salad

I suppose I’ll have to learn how to alter my soup recipe to be a little less cals and carbs *sigh*

Fiber: to subtract or not to subtract?

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Today is day 1 for me. Ive done Atkins many times before, but this is the first time for the ‘72 version.

So, how many of you subtract your fiber from your total Carb count? I take a couple supplements that are high in fiber. Should i count them or not?
