Hi guys, my name is Ernesto. I’m from San Antonio, Texas and just joined this particular message board. I’m not new to atkins, but I thought I’d share my progress in the hopes that I’d maybe inspire someone having troubles.
I’m a 25 year old grad student, working towards a PhD in Information Technology (well, I graduate in May with my MS in Information Assurnace & Security and start the PhD in August, to be exact). As of right now, I’m 240 lbs and stand 5′10, but 2 years ago, I was pretty close to 400 lbs!!!! I was really feeling quite sick and worried for my health, so I started Atkins and stuck to it (strictly). I waited 6 months before I started to work out, and from what I remember, I lost 70 lbs from diet alone in that period. The extreme cravings took about 6 months to totally die off, and once I hit 270, I started lifting weights with a vengance. I went the entire first year without a single cheat day and now I’m just working on the last few steps.
