Wanna stop drinking pop? Watch "Sweet Misery"!

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

What an eye-opener! Dh watched it with me and he was just as convinced as I am that diet pop is full of nasty chemicals and that the FDA is motivated by $ and not public health. Stopping pop all together will be easy now that we know about HFCS and Aspartame.

If you haven’t seen it, here’s the link…

Poll: What time do you stop eating at night?

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Some people swear by stopping all eating at a certain hour, to help with weight loss. You know them — "I never eat after __:00 o’clock", with the thought that calories eaten later, especially close to bedtime, are more easily stored as fat.

Then, there’s the opposite approach — keep eating small amounts to keep your metabolism revved up. So, stopping eating early in the evening is just going to slow your metabolism down and slow your weight loss — better to keep eating every few hours.

Which do you do? Any science on which of these is actually a better strategy?

Hi there, this is my first post but i have been hanging around for a while and love learning new things , think this site is great.

I am a little confused at present and would love to hear from any of you with any ideas you might have.
My husband and i have been low carbing for 5 months now, he has lost 20 kilos and i have lost 11 kilos we are only a few kilos each of our goal weights which is so exciting, the problem is hubby just had his blood work come back and his cholesterol has gone up!
initially it was at 6.3 now has risen to 7.4 the doctor has told him to stop low carbing and go low fat to get cholesterol down he is now worried and has changed his diet, i dont want to change mine and cant imagine going back to previous eating habits, but must admit am a little worried about his results and now am anxious to get mine done.

Anyone have any ideas as to the rise when he has been eating to plan?
It is harder now that we are not following this together and are not agreeing on the same eating plan.

hope this makes some sense thanks

Hi everyone, I’m new to the website and pleased to see all the involment that everyone is on this diet! I mean it’s great seeing people on this diet right now and not hearing about success stories from like a year of two ago, reading on the current successes makes it so much easier to connect with.
Well I am on the Atkins diet and weighed in at 210 the first week I went down to 205 and the second went to 200. On my third week I lost another five losing a total of 20 pounds and weighing in at 190
On my 4th week I went to weigh myself and saw no change I did not know why. I am still on the induction phase and have not cheated in any shape or form. I do believe that it is too early for me to hit a plateau and wonder could you do that even staying at or less than 20 carbs a day? I do my usuall keto testing every evening and they still change color so what could it be????
Then I also had to keep in mind that it was that TOM. How much does that have to do with interfering with weight loss? On the last day of TOM is weighed my self and still weighed in around 188-190. So I am getting very discouraged
Any comments or suggested would be greatly appreciated And I hope that I will continue to lose weight. I am 5′3 and would like to be around 125 I would even like to be 150
