those who get up early to exercise…

Ok all last week I was getting up at 5:15am during the week to exercise before work… anyway this morning I just couldn’t get up if my life depended on it.
Anyone else have issues getting up early the first few days into daylight savings? Or is it just me… lol

don’t beat yourself up for today, most people have trouble once the time changes. You should be back to normal by the end of the week!

I’d rather do an early morning workout, but I am at work by 5:00. My days off I usually go to the gym after I take my son to school.

This morning was more of a challenge for me because for one, I couldn’t go to sleep last night … maxed out on energy from my carb load on Saturday … and two, because I woke up to pee at 3:00 and couldn’t go back to sleep forever!

Then the alarm goes off at 4:55 a.m., which my inner clock translates at 3:55 a.m.

    It has to get easier.

I’m bright eyed and bushy tailed at 4:30 am!

I’m out the door by 4:45 to take my dog around the block. I LOVE the early morning air and the moon and stars in the still dark sky. This is wakeup/warm up time for me. Then I take my dog back home and go out for a 1/2 hr jog. Then I do hand weight and abs from 5:45 to 6:15; alternating upper and lower body each day. Then hit the shower!

BUT… I do go to my room between 8 and 8:30 pm with my cup of tea and a book and I’m asleep by 9 pm (or sooner!)

I didn’t always get up this early, but I just decided that this is the year of NO EXCUSES and I stick by that. I’m not allowed to use the excuse that I’m to tired to get up or I deserve a break today. And now that it has become a habit, I’d feel worse if I didn’t get up.

Here’s a method to try: I keep an excel spreadsheet with columns for my daily routine. Each day I fill in the block with my time/distance or whatever was on schedule for the day. If I miss a day, I grey that row out and write Excuse #1 (or 2 or 3 etc.) in that row. That’s kind of like when the teacher writes your name on the board for being naughty at school.

Since January 5, I have one grey row; but otherwise I’ve been up by 4:30 am and have been exercising 6 days a week. I do have a few grey rows that I was sick with fever, but that’s a legitimate reason.
