Mini rant to follow…………
So, why is it that so many people who are low carbing get satisfaction from gloating and saying things like, "I’m sitting here eating my pork rinds and rib eye steaks, and I’m losing weight, while you’re eating low fat and you’re hungry all the time – watch me stuff myself with one pound of bacon. I bet you can’t have that." I respect someone’s choice to do low carb. I did it at one time too. I think we all did. And, for whatever reason, it didn’t work for us. Why the smug attitude? First off, pork rinds.
Sorry, they DO NOT taste like bread crumbs. They taste like crumbled up pork rinds. Disgusting. Secondly, low carbing for me was never about all that I could have. It was about what I couldn’t have. Like pizza. I don’t care how many combinations of eggs, cheese, cream cheese and Italian spices you come up with, it doesn’t taste like pizza. Call it what it is. Quiche. So, I have to limit my calories, and I can’t gorge on as much high fat food as I want to. So what. It’s what works for me and I can have any food I want. But I never get smug about it because I know you have to make sacrifices with every diet out there – high fat foods, high carb foods, sugar, beef. It’s about what you can live with and what you can live without. I like being able to eat whatever types of food I want to eat, even if I have to watch portion sizes. I get irritated when someone acts like I’m missing out on something because I’m doing WW – what I miss out on is my choice.

I’m starting fresh tomorrow and starting the meetings again on Tuesday. I just needed to whip myself into a frenzy. There. That’s done.
I hope Sandy got off safely and is having a blast in PV.
I have no idea who is even in the Superbowl, but I will be watching it off and on.

eyeyeyayeyaaaa!! ..
whats wrong with pork grinds!
well.. I just got to get back in CONTROL and DH got his blood results back.. and funny thing.. when we did the Atkins.. his cholostral was NORMAL! now.. eating a variety of HEALTHY food, it came back HIGH!!! LOL

We are just going to jump start us and our system again..
I will keep eating my dairy.. yogurt and cottage cheese etc..
and I will have my fresh fruits.. low carb berries.. and yes and apple from time to time..
but I got to stop with all the snacking of the processed stuff.. its just not good for me. So tomorrow I need to go and stock up on eggs.. and I have plenty of everything else …
looking forward to it actually..

Hey Girls,
Popping in to say hi!
Lou, I know what you mean. If someone doesn’t want to do WW, fine, buy why bash it??? Just ignore them.
As of today I lost 6.4 lbs. my first month. I’ll take it! I’m aiming for 5 per month so I exceeded my first goal
I’m going to do some work so I’m kind of caught up for tomorrow, then hopefully work on my taxes.
Foodnetwork is showing a bunch of wedding cake challenges today starting at 3:00, and the guy I had my class with a few weeks ago will be on. In case anyone watches his name is Buddy Valastro – a cute Italian from NJ

Yikes Lou….I was hoping none of us got you into that frenzy…..I always take what people say in the ML and the PG with a grain of salt….sometimes I think they get off on starting those types of threads…stick with us..we all know WW is a great plan and it does work….no matter what plan anyone is on we should all be supportive….or shut the heck up….
…I’m looking forward to your posts about your meetings…you made me laugh so much in the past with your stories or crowding or nasty people getting on the scales in bare feet….
…
Monika….I’m sure that cutting out the frankenfoods will do you alot of good no matter whether you stick with LFL or Atkins…it’s all good and you have done great
Mel….
….great weight loss for January…you are rocking the program….I’m waiting until tomorrow to get my official Jan loss….I need an extra day since I had a LC madness binge…read tons of nuts and LC ice cream…and gained quite a bit mid month…I’ve been back OP for the last 11 days and fixed most of the damage….
Hoping Sandy made it to Mexico safely and is now sitting beachside sipping something with an umbrella in it…
Sending
to Jenn…and everyone I"ve missed or not mentioned in my haste
Have a great evening…

Marking my spot for the week (isn’t that what cats do???? I’ve been around Guinie and Merlin too much) and then going to go make John’s sandwich for work and iron his pants and shirt. Then going to knit on Helene’s afghan.
Watching the Super Bowl, we turned it on at 8 during Springsteens half time. I thought the game started at 8. Ooops.
